Panama City Beach publishes current beach conditions through its official visitor and Beach & Surf Patrol resources. Conditions can change during the day, so check the current posted flag when you arrive, not only a screenshot or forecast from earlier.

Understand the flag and the rip-current forecast separately

Florida warning flags summarize overall surf hazards, while NWS rip-current forecasts evaluate the likelihood of dangerous rip currents. They are related but not interchangeable. A lower-hazard flag does not guarantee that a rip current cannot form.
